Twisted Chain Mail.
The use of mail as battlefield armour was common during the Iron Age and the Middle Ages, becoming less common over the course of the 16th and 17th centuries. I love that this picture is not what it seems-- at first glance it could be swirling rich, chocolate, soft and ready to taste. However, it is really something cold and hard-- chainmail. Awesome.
