Description
I actually saw this tiny flower and decided to get a close up. I didn't see the bee until I was sitting on the ground trying to get the shot.
In Greek mythology, this mythical flower, which was almost certainly not the modern hyacinth, sprang up from the blood of the dying prince Hyacinthus. His lover, the god Apollo, shed tears that marked the new flower's petals with the letters "AIAI" ("alas") as a sign of his grief.
Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, and are known for their role in pollination and for producing honey and beeswax.
